The Run

With the memory and thoughts of esme propelling me forward, I will run in the 2009 Munich marathon Oct 11.  I run because I can.  While running, I honor all of the individuals I know that have not had the gift of health, time, and/or longevity.  Esme’s short life was lived fully and with an open heart.  I hope to learn from her warmth and openess. I am using the race as a platform to collect donations that will be formed into a scholarship fund at Miami University (my place of employment).  If I can raise $10,000, Miami will match that amount with an additional $5,000 and form an endowment.  Once an endowment is established, a scholarship can be given to a select student in the School of Fine Arts each year in memory of Esme.

P.S. This is my first marathon! I finally decided to attempt this long time goal with the help of esme.  No chance for failure now.  Please donate so that the monatary goal can be acomplished as well. Or…. put on your running shoes and join me in Munich!
